The 569 is Levi's loose straight, the roomiest of the classic 500s. It sits low on the waist, runs full through the seat and thigh and drops straight to a wide hem. Japanese style site Otokomae ties it to the loose jeans of 1980s hip-hop and B-boy style; we couldn't confirm a launch year from Levi's. US-made pairs exist, so it was in the line before Levi's closed its last American plant in 2003. GQ made the case for it again in 2021, and by 2026 fans were petitioning Levi's to bring it back. That makes the older all-cotton pairs the ones to look for, since many later 569s are stretch denim. Check the tags for MADE IN USA and 100% cotton, and buy by the rise and leg opening, because a loose fit only works at the right length.

An all-cotton 569 from the 1990s or early 2000s gives you the loose skate-era shape in denim that's already broken in.
The 569 sits low on the waist and is full through the seat and thigh with a straight, wide leg, so the waist tag says little about how it hangs. Ask for the waist flat and doubled, front rise, thigh, inseam and leg opening, and compare them with a pair you own.

For a 569 to wear, we'd take the medium wash the seller says fits 32x32, with the 00569-0247 code in the title, at $41 delivered. There are at least 233 for sale, all from US sellers in our sample, and most ask $30–45 delivered for Y2K and 2000s pairs. None of these titles claims Made in USA, so ask for the fabric tag and inside tags, since the older all-cotton pairs are the ones to want and elastane means a newer stretch 569. It sits low and drops to a wide hem, so the front rise and leg opening tell you more than the waist tag, and a long inseam pools. eBay's search cards don't show seller feedback for these, so check it on the item page, and skip the $80 32x32 titled 90s Y2K, over twice the band median.
